Hi I'm Greg Deacon an enthusiastic tri-athlete and on behalf of CyclingForFun.co.uk I'm going to run through a few of the options for bikes available to you.

About 70% of all bike sales are mountain bikes they are more rugged in construction, can be slightly heavier, but have thicker wheels and straight handle bars.

The road bike you see hear is much more classical in design, it has thin wheels and tires and drop handle bars and you are likely to see this in the famous road races such as the Tour de France.

You can also get highbred bikes which are a combination of the two, and these seem ideally suited to the commuter.

It is always useful to visit your association of cycle traders shop in order to get good advice when purchasing a bicycle.

You should seek independent professional advice before acting upon any information on the CyclingForFun website. Please read our Disclaimer.
